Pengo has introduced the Long Reach Mount for Skid Steers.  This universal mount is designed to be used with up to a 12,000 ft/lb drive unit.  The unique design of the long reach mount optimizes the operators visibility by positioning the drive up to 48″ from the front of the skid steer giving it an added safety feature when digging.  The standard retractable stabilizer arms allow the drive attachment to stand upright when not in use and improves the ability to store, transport, and attach to the skid loader.

The benefits of the the long reach mount continue by providing a 7′ to 11′ maximum ground clearance depending  on the drive being used along with an increase in height capability which allows drillers to use longer auger bits and anchor installers to use longer sections.

A little update for you guys from BrightSource Energy/Bechtel’s 400 megawatt concentrated solar project out in Ivanpah, California. Last week we were back out to the Mojave Desert with the company of Pengo Engineering Manager, Eric Matthias, to show off the new engineering designs for the “second generation” equipment for their 3 upcoming projects.  Eric got to get a quick tour of the whole project, including a site visit of working equipment, and the ultra cool 450,000 square foot fully automated heliostat factory given by the Bechtel Lead Area Heliostats and Solar Field Superintendent, Mark Wagner.  I could tell Eric was truly impressed!  The picture includes two of the 14 rigs out there drilling holes and inserting the pylons.  They have over 80,000 pylons inserted now, and they average 650 holes drilled everyday with your DV Drives, and 500 pylons inserted with the vibro attachment!  Pretty amazing for sure!

PENGO foundation tools are on the job at the Ramsey, Indiana Substation Project.  Pictured is a 42″ Core Barrel used in hard limestone  soil conditions.  Contractor J.J. Barney is using the core barrel to drill holes to set high tension electrical towers.

This is just one more example of PENGO’s power construction attachments at work!
